Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Charles Kirke, Bristol, Conn., 30 hour, time and strike weight wood movement pillar & scroll shelf clock. c1830. (2) M. & E. Blakesley, Plymouth, Conn., 30 hour, time and strike weight wood movement half column & splat shelf clock with carved paw feet. c1830
CONDITION:
(1) Mahogany & mahogany veneered case in an old and possibly original finish has a small chip on the door, replaced cross strip, replaced key escutcheon, repairs on the skirt, replaced top side returns. Feet are original, but have repairs. Original scrolls. Original painted dial has some wear to the chapter ring and numerals. Replaced tablet. Darkened label inside. (2) Mahogany and mahogany veneered case in original finish has remains of original stenciling on the columns and splat. Original tablet has loss in the center area. Original painted dial in nice condition for its age. Original hands. One toe on the right foot is missing. Key escutcheon is missing. Two side returns are missing. Darkened label inside.
